OPPO's F series turned ten in India this week, and the company marked it with two phones built around a single idea: a battery that lasts two days. The F35 5G and F35 Pro 5G launched on 5 October and go on sale from 11 October. Here is what you get and what you pay.

- OPPO F35: Rs 38,999 for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage; Rs 42,999 for 8GB and 128GB.
- OPPO F35 Pro: Rs 45,999 for 6GB and 128GB; Rs 49,999 for 8GB and 128GB; Rs 54,999 for 8GB and 256GB.
Those are the sticker prices. OPPO launch weeks usually carry bank discounts and exchange bonuses that cut the effective price by Rs 2,000 to 4,000.

- Display: 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED with adaptive 60, 90 and 120Hz refresh, 1,400 nits full-screen brightness, 10-bit colour.
- Chip: MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max on a 6nm process.
- Battery: 8,000mAh with 80W wired charging, the largest OPPO has put in an F-series phone.
- Durability: IP69K rating, which covers high-pressure, high-temperature water jets as well as dust.
- Front camera: 50MP ultra-wide, pitched at group selfies and video calls.
- Software: ColorOS 17 on Android.
What the Pro adds
The Pro's premium is mainly about the rear camera system and storage options, with the 256GB variant exclusive to the Pro. Both phones use the same chip, so day-to-day performance will be similar; the Pro is for people who shoot more photos.
The value question
The F series started as a mid-range selfie line. At Rs 39,000 to 55,000, the F35 family now overlaps with the Reno series and with Samsung's A5x and Nothing's phones. The 8,000mAh battery and IP69K rating are genuine differentiators, but a Dimensity 6360 Max is a modest chip for this price. If you prioritise battery and durability, the F35 is compelling; if you want performance, the money buys more elsewhere.
