Aditya and Kavya worked in the same office — for two years. Both knew each other, but their friendship was limited to the office. Then a group formed for a trek — and both joined it. Nobody knew that this trek would change their lives.
Day One — Snow and an Unexpected Conversation
The first camp was in a small village 20 kilometres from Manali. In the evening, sitting by the fire with tea, Aditya and Kavya began talking — and it continued until 2 AM. 'We talked about everything — books, life, fears, dreams,' Kavya remembers.

Day Two — When a Hand Was Held in the Snow
There was ice on the next day's climb. Aditya held Kavya's hand — for support. But when the path became safe, the hands didn't separate. Both knew. But neither spoke. They just kept walking.
Kavya, 31, Bengaluru"What happened on that mountain was no less than a film scene. But it was real. It was the most real moment of my life."
The Last Day — What Needed to Be Said
On the last day of the trek, looking down at the valley from above, Aditya said — 'Kavya, I have something to tell you.' She said — 'I already know.' Both laughed. Both cried. And there in the snow, at that altitude, a new story began.

Aditya and Kavya are married today. Every year they return to the same trek. 'We celebrate our anniversary in Himachal,' Aditya says. 'Because our story began there — and it becomes new again each year.'
